Makeup Video - Simple Event Makeup

by - April 04, 2013

Hey, my beautiful friends!  I made another makeup video during the break.  I was testing a new lighting so you can notice the extreme brightness and a white sheet behind me.  Looked cheap, actually.  HAHA!  Oh well, at least I tried, right??? Right??  :)

It turned out to be a very short video.  I'm still not sure if it's just because of the music, a little upbeat and not K-POP this time.  :P  Anyway, I did my same old style of applying eye shadow and lining my eyes.  But the notable part here is the semi-dark lips.  I just recently tried it once and instantly fell in love with the effect it gave to my whole look.  It's perfect for neutral eye makeup.  You can wear this on any occasions, even at work if you want.

Enjoy!

FACE

This will work best with dark drown brows, just to balance the whole look.  It's up to you how you prep your face using foundation, concealer and powder.  For events, you should have a clean and flawless canvass as much as possible.  Photo-ready!  Don't mind my coverage though.  HAHA!  You can still see my blemishes.  Genetics.  Poor me.  :(

EYES

For the eyes, don't do anything fancy.  Well, it still depends on the occasion.  Use brown or taupe eye shadow for your crease and outer corner.  Then, a champagne color for the lids.

The eyeliner should be as closest to the lash line as possible.  Keep it thin and create a small wing as you approach the outer corner.

Curl your lashes.  Apply mascara.  You already know this step by heart.  :)

For the lower lash line, grab a brush and smudge it while the mascara is still a little wet.  This will create a subtle line.  You can also use a black eyeliner if you prefer.

CHEEKS

Don't use a rosy color.  Instead, something a little darker than that.  It will also serve as your contouring blush.

LIPS

Now, for the lips.  Look for a dark red or maroon lip liner to color your lips.  Don't forget to line properly.  And yes, apply lip balm first.  :)  To darken, dab on a red lipstick.  You can use a lip brush to blend everything in.

DONE!

Hope you enjoy this simple and easy video.  :)

You can intensify everything if you're in the mood for a stronger look.  Well, let's say for evening events.

Good luck!
