Make Up And Hair (MUAH) - Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Alarm

by - June 08, 2014

Finding the right red lipstick for you can be a little tricky sometimes.  Usually, beauty counselors at makeup stores will check your skin tone and look for the perfect shade that matches it.  But for me, as long as it instantly brightens your face and complements your complexion very well, I'd suggest you take that red lippie home, dearie.

There are a lot of good reds available, but to make it simpler for you, let's divide it into 2 types.  The warm-blooded and cold blooded.  HAHA!  No, just warm and cool shades of red.  In this post, I'm featuring a warm red lippie with a little coral tone from Rimmel London.

It's called Alarm (#170) from their Lasting Finish collection.  It's a pasalubong from US too, so not sure about the price.  Too bad, it's not available locally, BUT we can order them for you!  Wanna know how?  Visit The Chic Closet's Facebook page.

Color

Like I said, it's warm-red.  Ladies (and gents) with warm skin tones will love this.  There's also a hint of coral which makes it more wearable.  The shade is very opaque too.

Finish

Classic satin finish.  No need to add gloss to make it look shinier.

Application

You'll get it's true and full color with just one swipe.  It glides smoothly on the lips without feeling patchy.

Texture

It's very soft and doesn't feel heavy on lips.  Since it has a great color payoff, no need to apply 2, 3 or 4 layers.

Longevity

Here's the watch-out.  This lippie lacks lasting power.  It transfers and fades easily.  After drinking and eating, it disappears.  Sad.  :(

Formula

I felt some dryness after several hours.  Nevertheless, it feels good on the lips.

No irritating scent as well.

I like it!  <3

Comparing it to the ladies' fave, MAC Ruby Woo, it's really warmer.

  1. It looks purplish than coral on your lips. It's a nice shade though, reminds me of Mac's Rebel because of the purple undertone. :)
