Make Up And Hair (MUAH) - Quick FX No-Shine Mattifier
If I'm in a mall and I'm not shopping for clothes, watching movie, hanging out at a coffee shop or anything like that, you can find me at one place - the drugstore.
Seriously. Kris can leave me there for hours and I'll be fine. In fact, I'll be as happy as a kid in a toy store. Oh yes, my simple joy.
It's so seldom that I would walk away without taking home something. And reversely, if I'm on a shopping ban (like now), it's definitely one of the places I stay away from.
Having said that, it's no surprise when you see a drugstore gem here on le blog like this one.
I spotted this somewhat unfamiliar name and decided to pick it up. I saw the label and learned that it's a Korean brand.
It's a basic mattifying primer. I was so amazed that it comes in a sachet-type of packaging and clearly, it doesn't cost a fortune. And let me tell you guys, this is the most affordable primer I've seen so far!
No need to worry about transferring it to a small container to avoid mess because the there's like a plastic seal cap. Nice idea!
I placed it side by side with Maybelline Pore Eraser and here, you can easily spot the difference and somehow imagine what it really looks like.
I don't see silicone in the ingredient list so for those who are sensitive to that, you can surely try Quick FX. It's more on the creamy side and has a balm-ish or waxy texture.
It's totally scentless and well, I don't have a lot of experience with primers but I'm pretty sure that it doesn't feel cheap.
When blended, they look so similar. They glide on very smoothly on skin like butter!
Here you can see the beautiful matte finish. It creates a silky canvass, perfect for makeup application. On face, you'll really see the mattifying action. It also doesn't require time to set and it sits well on top of skin. "Quick effects" you say?
Even with a pea-sized amount, it's enough to prep and prime the face. Most of the time, I just apply it on my t-zone, the area where I get greasy.

This primer also contains salicylic acid and tea tree extract, absolutely, someone with oily and troubled skin might appreciate.
Oil-control? Maybe. I can't completely agree on this one because my t-zone still starts to get shiny after 5 hours or so but I think it somehow extends it for a like an hour more.
Quick FX + thin layer of L.A. Girl Pro HD Concealer blended using fingers first, then Real Techniques Contour Brush
Coverage? Ahm. I don't know. It has a very minimal blurring power for pores, lines and other blemishes. Almost unnoticeable.
4 ways to use this guy
1) if you have oily skin/t-zone and you want to mattify that area
2) if the foundation you're currently using happens to be too dewy for you and you want a matte finish
3) if you don't care too much about coverage for your primer
4) if you want to get rid of the shine instantly but don't want to layer on powder nor use blotting sheets (yep, you can use it over makeup as well!)
Overall, I'm impressed! Mattifying action is instant though it's not something that's gonna last throughout the day. But I'm fine with that. Really. It feels light, doesn't clog my pores and not drying (people with dry skin might not like it).
Go ahead and grab one if you see it! Actually, I want to try the other three variants.
