BURP GUIDE - Vikings

by - March 31, 2014

We decided to celebrate Kris' birthday last week at Vikings, SM Megamall.  You know, simple but special.  Not to mention, inexpensive.  HAHA!  Good thing there's a birthday promo where celebrants can eat for free.  We paid for only 1 dinner.  To cap off the day, I prepared a little surprise - complete with his birthday cake and balloons.

I'm not in the mood to write a long review, so I hope these photos would be enough.

Here's the birthday cake from Vikings.  <3

The birthday boy was early.  He made a walk-in reservation before 5PM and we got the 9th spot.

For those who want to avail of their Birthday Promo, don't forget to bring a valid ID with your birth date imprinted on it.

I love the ambiance.  There were a lot of customers that day, but it didn't make the place look too crowded.

Our table was near the dessert station.

appetizers

shabu-shabu section

pizza and pasta station

You guessed it.  I ordered red sauce.  I loved the mozarella cheese and tomatoes, but still my pasta tasted a little bland.

sushi boat

sashimi station - that guy over there got me my fave salmon

another boat - maki rolls

more finger foods - the chili con carne is a must try, pour it over your nachos

salad station - you won't find us hanging out here.  HAHA!

tea time!

you don't have to try their ramen - go pick something else

enjoying his cake

carving station

go for the tenderloin!

take us home!  HAHA!

more than 10 drinks to choose from, not to mention milo smoothie and fruit shakes
we recommend their blueberry and strawberry lemonade

snow ice

having a frozen yogurt aside from ice cream is a plus point

it's fondue time!

here's my creation - ichi's frozen yogurt

loved their ice cream too!

another one - strawberry and green tea ice cream topped with walnuts and mallows

satisfied with their dessert selection as well

must try: creme brulee and red velvet cheesecake

this one's good too

Few minutes spent answering their quick survey.  High-tech!

What I loved about it:
  • Birthday promo!
  • Reasonable price for dinner and lunch
  • Convenient location
  • Great selection of dishes, drinks, desserts and more
  • Presence of chefs makes it look more upscale
  • Accommodating staff
  • Ambiance similar to hotel buffets

Watch-outs:
  • Ignore the tempura - size is so disappointing :(
  • Drink station tends to be little messy because of spills
  • I expected more kinds of sushi/rolls and dimsum/dumplings
  • 2 main stations are located on opposite sides - imagine the walk
  • I expected more fruits

Overall, we really enjoyed our experience.  We almost tried every station.  HAHA!  YOLO meal to the highest level!  It was indeed a sumptuous birthday dinner. :)

And now, for the finale.

Happy birthday again to my bestfriend, to my original bear.  :P

I can't wait for my next feast at Vikings!

  1. Nice pictures you got there. What did you use for taking these photos? A point and shoot? or an SLR?
